A Black and White Affair

No Fall wardrobe is complete without this season's hottest color combination: Black and White. Now I know many of you must be thinking -- "Doesn't this violate the first commandment of fashion: Thou Shalt Not Wear White After Labor Day?" Well after years of personally breaking this rule, I'm pleased to report that the fashion industry's top designers have come over to the dark side (or in this case the light side) and are embracing winter white.

White is making it's mark all over the runways this season and looks particularly sharp when coupled with the bold and beautiful black. Two looks in this color scheme that no woman should go without are the belted white dress and the sharp black and white suit.

The little white dress (LWD) is no longer just for summer cocktail parties. Designers are encouraging fashionistas to break all the rules and rock plenty of white dresses this fall. No cap sleeved mini or snow white sheath is complete without a skinny black belt, cinched at the waist, to accentuate a woman's figure and curves.

While the white sheath dress will keep your look soft and feminine, the sharp black and white suit will give you a harder more masculine edge. Fierce Fashionistas should try this fall's contrasting black-and-white mix-and-match tailoring, which pairs sharp jackets with knife-pleat pants. Black and White suiting is a fall trend that lends itself to all body types so there is no excuse not to give it a try!
