Personality, Kim Kardashian embraces this trend! |
OK Now Ladies… If you are, as I suspect, between the ages of 20-22 years old, you can remember back to when you were in the 8th grade where women (maybe even you as a young woman) were dawning their feet with pumps that boasted a point and no platform. I hope you and your mothers held onto those gems tight because “they’re baaacccckkkk!” This trend often is, like the platform, almond toe heel trend, often regarded in a love me or hate me type of scenario. If you’re on the taller side, this shoe is for you! (Sorry shorties!) Many people in opposition to this shoe trend often back up their points with sentiments of pain because of how little space there is between the ball of your foot and the ground itself. I’ve surveyed a handful of women who simply say, “Heels are what you make of them. Some people can run in them and some people struggle, even in kitten heels.”
Christian Louboutin “Pigalle” Pump
From top of the line brands like Christian Louboutin and
Manolo Blahnik, stars are opening up to this trend quickly, which means (here’s
the good news) SO ARE THE AFFORDABLE BRANDS! Below you’ll find some fresh heels
to squeeze your toes into without getting blisters on your bank account ;)
Steven by Steve Madden "Loulu" Pumps - $139.00 - SHOPBOP
Sam Edelman “Danielle” Pointed Toe Pumps - $150.00 - Bloomingdales
BCBG Paris “Jaze” Pump - $59.95 (originally $79.00) - DSW
Good luck, trend followers! Don’t forget to shop with a
mindful eye for these shoes; spend bigger money on basics that will last and
invest less into the “in the now” fashions of spikes and glitter materials. And
don’t forget that at the end of the day, the game of fashion is never intended
for serious anxiety; it’s all meant to be “tongue in chic” ;)
